I borrowed this dvd from the library with an inkling that it was most likely not too great of a movie. After all, I don't even recall it ever being in the theaters. Well, I wasn't wrong, but I was
also right in assuming that it would be full of beautiful costumes and sets. It had so many breathtaking shots of Venice! It really did. So though the story dragged and was really very choppy, I was content just to feast on all the eye-candy and wonder once again if I could ever pull off throwing a masquerade ball. On a different note, it was quite saddening to watch Heath Ledger in this film and think again upon his recent passing. I really did like him as an actor and he did seem to stand apart from most of the actors his age.
