A few days ago we watched the movie "Across the Universe" based upon my sister's recommendation. After watching the movie, it confirmed something I pretty much already realized, that I would not have enjoyed living in the 60's! I think my temperament and tastes are far more suited to the 50's, if I must be honest. Though the movie was interesting in some respects and culturally significant, I wouldn't say I enjoyed it but for one thing--the music! That, I enjoyed thoroughly. I was especially impressed by the performances of Jim Sturgess, Evan Rachel Wood and T.V. Carpio. Below are a few of the Beatles covers I really liked from the movie, although there were a lot of other good ones in addition to these.

Glad you got to see this and enjoy the music! Actually I'm with you on your comments on this movie. It was the hubby who actually really liked this movie. I did enjoy some of the visuals though, particularly in the first half of the movie. But back to the music! Jim Sturgess is definitely great and the rendition of "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" is so filled with angst, isn't it? I'm still not tired of listening to the soundtrack over and over.
